The whole earth is full of His glory…
Filed in General |
I’ve often thought about the intrinsic purpose of the day of Pentecost, in 33 a.d. It seems so much is missed when we fail to make its connection with the story of redemption.
The day of Pentecostal was not only the birthing of God’s new covenant people, it was also the supernatural beginning of the command of Jesus to go into all the world and preach the gospel to all nations and people groups.
Think about it. The peoples of the earth speak many languages. The Lord set His commission in place on the day of Pentecost by giving the apostles the supernatural ability to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ in the languages of the world. And from the many thousands of Jews who accepted Jesus as Lord and Messiah, the gospel would thence return with them to the various regions of the earth.
This was the beginning of a heavenly movement that would eventually fill all the earth with the glory of the Lord. This was the beginning of what the BIble calls ‘the kingdom of the beloved Son.’
Christianity spread swiftly to people groups everywhere. Its been that way ever since. Certainly there has been an ebb and flow through the ages, and not everyone would accept the message, yet multiplied millions have come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their own Savior and King.
This is where we need to take special note of what the apostles and the prophets said about the glory of the Lord and the message of His kingdom –
“For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.” - Hab 2:14 NASB
“And one called out to another and said, ‘Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts, the whole earth is full of His glory.’” - Isa 6:3 NASB
“This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.” - Mat 24:14 NASB
“All the kings of the earth will give thanks to You, O LORD, when they have heard the words of Your mouth. And they will sing of the ways of the LORD, for great is the glory of the LORD.” - Psa 138:4-5 NASB
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.” - 2Co 3:18 NASB
“…but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory; the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory…” - 1Co 2:7-8 NASB
The answer for the world is found in one word…
The apostles and the prophets had one message for all the world. That message is contained in this statement -
“And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” - Acts 2:21 NASB
The apostle Paul explained this even further -
“But what does it say? ‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’–that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
“…for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, ‘Whoever believes in Him willnot be disappointed.’ For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for ‘whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” - Rom 10:8-13 NASB
When it is said and done, we are all sinners saved by grace…
Take a moment to listen to this song - ‘Where No One Stands Alone.’
Please take time to read and listen to what I’ve shared in this entry. I had you in my mind. Jesus really, really loves you.
May the Lord’s love overcome your life,
In Christ,
Buddy

Amen! It all comes down to one word - Jesus! Thank you pastor. I enjoy reading your blog.

Thanks Peggy. I am happy to know that you enjoy my blog. My heart beat is to spread the name of Jesus to as many as I can.
Blessings,
Buddy
Did you ever wonder “back in the day” when we didn’t even have a radio or TV or telephone how the Gospel would be preached to all the world ? Now that took a lot of faith. I was not one of the failthful back then and I just could not believe it possible. My dear Mother thought the TV was the work of the Devil and wouldn’t allow one in the house. I wonder how Mama would cope now with computers . When I see your name pop up I have to just tell Mama, look it’s Bro. Buddy.

Kitty,
We live in a day of absolute wonder when it comes to communication. This blog is one of my avenues of ministry. Don’t know if you’ve clicked on the map on the left bar (ClustrMaps). It gives you an idea of where my blog is being viewed. That map is an encouragement to me. And just to think that my journal is only one of thousands of Christian journals.
In the back of everything I write, I want to share the Lord Jesus. Even in my funny things, I still consider my blog a ministry. I’m always asking the Lord to help me make my blog compelling so that many more people will begin to tune in.
Thank you for writing. I always enjoy hearing from you. And as for the
back in the day’, yes indeed, I well remember the brush arbors, the tent meetings, the revivals, the mission fields. And now I can sit at my computer and reach people of whom I could never have reached otherwise.
The Lord bless you,
Buddy
