This one here, however, touches me very deeply because it involves disciple mentoring. I have went to so many churches in my life that preached "basic Jesus" and I have heard it over and over and over again, I knew that there had to be more but what? I spent most of my life without the help of an earthly father, but I craved this type of relationship, so I trusted many, many "father figures" only to be hurt when I found that they loved me to a point, but not like a real father. It was when I realized that I had a father in heaven that i began turning to HIM as my "earthly father" and thus began my "RELATIONSHIP" with him. This went on for many years before I understood what was going on, then one day in the middle of Cedar Creek Lake, He open my eyes and revealed our relationship! Since then I have sought a church where the people were aware of this fact, and even tried to convince some. "God wants a RELATIONSHIP with YOU." This is the key, and Christian Challenge exudes this fact. You can't sell Jesus unless you know Jesus! Its like selling a Ford but not knowing whether it even has tires or not!Praise GOD, he led me here! I am very thankful for your stewardship from the LORD, I do not try to make a father figure of you ( even though I am tempted a little) but rather a partner or a buddy in Christ (no pun). Its like being at a family reunion where you don't know anyone, people are smiling and friendly enough, but you feel out of place, and then all of a sudden someone yells your name and says " come over here with us" and then you know you belong.
