>> Thank you Buddy for wonderful comforting words, I just returned home from laying my stepfather, “Papa Ray” (a faithful pastor and man of God all his life), as we called him, to rest. He too served in the navy and was stationed in the Philippines, though this was during WWll. < <

Daniel,

Thank you for sharing about Papa Ray. He shares a rich part of the history of our nation. I'm afraid that his generation is swiftly making their departure. Seems he and I shared a three-way connection; Navy, Philippines, and pastoring. My heart goes also to your family. I know Papa Ray will be deeply missed.

>> I will never forget a trip all the family took to Hawaii to see Pearl Harbor. The look on his face told many stories of what God had saved him from and how proud he was of his fellow servicemen who had sacrificed all. < <

Pearl Harbor is an awesome memorial to the memory of our gallant warriors. My ship berthed there a number of times in our travels.

>> Despite the torrential rains we were having all week, the Lord granted us a beautiful morning of his burial and in front of the hill of his final resting place, lay a vista of snowcapped mountains. During the dove release, a large eagle appeared out of nowhere and circled twice above the vista then took off. It was as if the Lord was reminding us of his word,”they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles…” < <

Daniel, that is so heart stirring. Thank you for sharing it.

>> It was truly a comfort that will remain in our memories for times to come. Thank you Lord, for the glory of resurrection and the eternal life you so willingly paid the price for. God be with all those who are suffering loss, it is the trying of the fire that purifies the gold. <<

Yes indeed. Be sure that you have another one on this end who thanks the Lord every day for all that you said.

In Christ,

>> ... I had slipped out of the back gate. When they noticed I was missing, they looked everywhere to find me. However, I was no where to be found. My mother was distraught, crying, and praying to Jesus when a teenage boy rode up on his bicycle. She related to him about her missing child, and begged for him to help her find me. If fact he did, I had managed to make it almost a block away. He found me in an ally. I think that boy was really an angel of the Lord. And I am thankful that he restored me to my family. That is one of my banka, banka, banka stories. <<<

Crystal,

That was a wonderful 'banka, banka, banka' story. Thank you for sharing it. I would love to hear more from my readers about their 'banka' life. : )

As for that boy being an angel from the Lord, you don't have to convince me at all. The apostle said that angels are very much involved in our lives, but that they take on the form of humans.

Love you,

>> Beautiful, Buddy …. like, Kitty, I needed this today. Can’t say why, exactly, it just felt good and now I’ll go clean my house. Dear Kitty;
I am heartily sorry for your loss. Makes me know that when I finish typing this and saying a prayer for you to stay strong even in your despair and through your deserving tears …. I am going to go downstairs and give my wonderful husband, Ross, the biggest hug and kiss. < <

Twy,

You have such a tender heart. I know that Kitty treasures your prayers. Of course a hug and a kiss for Ross pretty much says it all.

>> Bless you Buddy. I thank God for the gift of meeting you. <<

Little sister, that gift works both ways. Betty and I will always hold in our hearts a love for you and Ross. You were so kind to us during our trip to Alaska.

Blessings,

Buddy,

When I was my youngest daughter's age--16 months, I was almost lost. My parents were visiting their aunt in Galveston, and thought I had come in with them from the backyard. In fact, I had slipped out of the back gate. When they noticed I was missing, they looked everywhere to find me. However, I was no where to be found. My mother was distraught, crying, and praying to Jesus when a teenage boy rode up on his bicycle. She related to him about her missing child, and begged for him to help her find me. That is one of my banka, banka, banka stories.
Much love,

Kitty,

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband passing. Our hearts go out to you, along with our prayers. Would you like to share something about him -- how long you were married, his age, etc.

Love you sis,

Today's devotion was what I needed to get through another day. My husband passed away unexpected Thursday a.m. It was quite a shock. All we have now is our faith to get past this moment in life. I would appreciate your prayers.
