		<description>Thanks Kitty,

Yes, I remember the logging mules. Seems the oxen in our area were eventually replaced by mules. Our closest neighbor had two logging mules. I will never forget 'Pete' and 'Blue.' They were the biggest mules I had ever seen. But I think they had been retired to graze to all content. : )

<description>I'm old timey too. But we had mules. I don't know enough about my Grandparents and GG to know if they had mules or oxen. I know my Uncle McD had mules. They had a sale and they named all his mules.
Enjoyed the photo's of you and Betty and of course C.J.</description>

		<description>Crystal,

It will be my pleasure to keep 'old timey things' going. I enjoy going through old pictures and sharing stories that I remember. And I'd love to see the pictures that Roy Wayne has. Might could pen some more stories. : )

Aunt Lizzie and my grandma Martin (Fannie) were real buddies. I do have one story that is funny. The preacher was waxing strongly when he noticed Aunt Lizzie and grandma talking. Of course aunt Lizzie was hard of hearing so grandma had to speak up.

Anyway, the preacher stopped preaching, and everyone in the church heard grandma say, "Lizzie, I always put butter in mine." Folks just laughed and the preacher picked back up without missing a lick. Neither did grandma and Aunt Lizzie miss a lick. (They didn't know they had been caught.)

Oh yes, I remember Aunt Lizzie well. Her grandkids were raised up with we grandkids. We all lived close together. In fact I helped dig Aunt Lizzie's well in her backyard. (Or maybe we were cleaning it out. Don't remember the details on that.)

Give Roy our love. Please come see us at first chance.

By the way, and I'm sure you know this, but Roy Wayne and I are both first cousins and first-cousins once removed, depending on which side of the family you are looking at. (Carvers and Martin-Knights.) Same with Betty Jean and Nelda Ruth.

Much love,

		<description>Buddy,

Daddy and I sure enjoyed today's blog. We really enjoy the pictures and discussions about the old-timey things. So, please keep those coming. Daddy got some of his mom's old pictures, so we might have a few to share with you. Maybe you know some of these old folks we don't recognize.

Daddy has alot of memories of his grandma, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Martin Knight. He said she was a midwife in the community. Do you have any more stories to share about her?
