Fred,

I have a feeling that most all the brothers from yesterday's breakfast, took another look at their marriage and hopefully at their own 'role' in relationship to their wife.

This reminds me of two things the Lord said about our wives:

"He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord." - Pr18:22

"House and wealth are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord." - Pr19:14

Betty and I greeted one another on this the morning of our 44th anniversary with a bit of fun but also with shared thankfullness. We began with 'You put up with me for 44 years?' (Of course with laughter in our eyes.)

We love picking at one another. But the final sharing had to do with both our thankfulness for the years of belonging to one another.

Yep, I had to go all the way to the Rocky Mountains to find me a prudent and lovely lady. And to this day she lights up my life.

Thanks Fred for sharing in a personal way.

May the Lord continue to enrich and bless you and Brenda,

BB, Every week I come home and survey the house and yard to see what needs to be done, I can see the hedges and grass have grown, the leaves on the drive, plants that need separated and repotted, limbs that have fallen, computer maint. minor house repairs, etc. I know that I must tend to the dogs, cats, aquariums, and parrot. I look on my calendar and see that I need to go to the store and get groceries and supplies for the mens brerakfast and for us while I am home. There are people that I love that have called and I know that I have these calls to return, BUT, when I look at my fine wife, I can never see that she needs anything, she looks great!, the house is clean, bills are paid, her hair is fixed, her face is always smiling. I immediately begin to make a mental priority list, and my wife is always at the bottom. Yesterday's Mens Breakfast made me realize that I have not been looking close enough at my wife. She, like most women conceal their needs behind a cloak of Love which makes them very hard to see sometimes, but nonetheless they are there. After the session like we had yesterday, I came home and listened to the usual conversation, but this time I heard something simple,"We are buddies aint we Freddy" I felt like someone hit me in the stomach and I was ashamed. Not that I did something so wrong, but that I was doing nothing really right. So I "Throwed Down" and put on nice clothes(she hates overalls) and we went to the movie, then ice cream, then we rode around just "snoopin" as she says, just talking about anything and everything, and had a very great day, went to sleep very happy. That grass will cut just as good monday.
