My husband and I are singing this song on Sunday as we visit the local prison and minister in song. I am believing that God will do great things with the hearts of those present as they listen. I find it so touching to sing and have broken into tears in practise!

Lovely site. Keep it up

God bless you

Thanks Rene,

I appreciate your thoughts. And I certainly agree with your pastor that God doesn't make junk. Actually even the lost man was created in the image of God. Sin mars the image, but Jesus is forever the answer. He can make something beautiful out of the most horrid pictures in life's scenery. May God help us to never forget this.

Blessings,

Amen Bro Buddy Amen. I had began to wonder if my wife and I were the only ones who felt as you do regarding this issue. My wife works for a dentist who is one of the few in our area who will treat Hiv/Aids postive patients so she comes into frequent contact with people who have been placed into the catergory of "outcast" by many people of God. Your blog expressed exactly how we feel. Thank you for having the courage to say what should be preached in pulpits across this nation. Of all the wonderful freedoms we have gained since leaving the UPC, the freedom from standing in judgement of others is the most awesome. As you said we recognize sin for what it is and while we do not agree with their lifestyles we have meet some wonderful, caring people who are rejected without thought by the "church". As my pastorsays "God does not create junk". There is something awesome and wonderful to be found in each of us regardless of the shortcomings in our life. Thanks again. Rene'

Nathan,

You have the heart of your heavenly Father and of your earthly father. I am also very much challenged by the depth of Jesus' love for all peoples.

My heart remains fixed on reaching hurting people wherever they may be found. Of course they aren't that hard to find. You can see them everywhere.

Love you son. Really looking forward to seeing you and Patrick this friday.

Blessings,

Dad

Hi Dad,

I really enjoyed your blog! I've been reading a couple of books that hammer home the point of Jesus' never-ending, never-failing love, even when we fail repeatedly. The books are "Messy Spirituality" and "Abba's Child" (recommended by Donna Frederick. I am challenged by the depth of Jesus' love and your message just hammers it home. Thanks for the blog!!!

Blessings,
Nathan

Hi Lia,

Thank you for sharing.

You said, "... yes, I felt the sincerity and the love that poured out of them. I was reminded again of my love for Jesus when I first met him."

The Jesus movement and the early Charismatic movements seemed to have such a love-flow in their beginnings. I think the love came out of the innocence of the peoples involved. Perhaps it was due to the childlike faith of most everyone. Over time as different camps sprang up, the movements seemed to become more rigid and unyielding. (Competing camps. Same thing happened in Pentecostalism.)

The Jesus movement simply disappeared and the Charismatics begin taking on strange teachings. It seemed the people were being taught to become God manipulators rather than true worshippers. (My impression.)

It is sad to lose one's innocence. How desperately we need to return to our first love and to the purity and simplicity of our devotion to Jesus Christ.

Lord, help us to get rid of all the hype. Amen.

Lia, you are more than welcome for the songs. During my Bible time this morning the Lord put on my heart to write this devotion.

Blessings,

Buddy

And I thank you, Brenda, for sharing your heart with me. You can be sure that none of your tears have fallen unnoticed.

David said, "You have taken account of my wanderings; put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your book?" (Psalm 56:8 nasb)

May the goodness of the Lord overflow your life,

Your friend in Jesus,

Bro. Buddy, I remember this song!!! When I was 14 and established myself with a foursquare church. I used to listen to "Evening Joy" a christian radio station and every evening they played beautiful christian music and I would take my little old cassette recorder and the radio and record the songs. One of them was this song! When I clicked it and heard it, the words came quickly back to me. It is a beautiful Song!!! And yes, I felt the sincerity and the love that poured out of them. I was reminded again of my love for Jesus when I first met him. I am sorry to hear of Marsha taking the wrong direction, but the Lord used her song in a mighty way in that time. There is a season and a purpose for everything even if we don't see what the future holds for us.
Thank you for sharing the song!

God Bless,
Lia
