Hi Son,

I always knew that the Song of the Disciple was your favorite. It speaks to your heart and to your calling. As for being a disciple, that is who you are. I was thinking about you this morning, in how? you have been my primary student from the beginning. (From your mother's womb.)

My memories are rich. I recall a revival in Iraan, Texas, where mom and Andre stayed with her parents in Kermit, Texas while you went with me to hold the revival. You played the maracas and stood next to me on the platform while I sang and played the guitar. You were just a little fellow.

I have another precious memory. When I would go to the church to pray, as was my custom, I would walk about talking to the Lord. Right behind me was this same little fellow trying to walk in my footsteps. Everything I would do, you would do. When I waved my arms, you would wave your arms. (Thank you Lord for such precious memories.)

Son, you need not stand in any man's shadow. You've learned the lessons of discipleship well. Remember what Jesus said about being a disciple; "It is enough for the disciple to become like his teacher..." (Mt10:25)

Your true teacher has been the Lord Jesus. I've simply been a roll model for you to consider. (With all my human frailities.)

I am so proud of you son. You are a decent and honorable servant of the Lord. Christian Challenge is blessed to have you at the helm.

With all the love a father can muster,

Daddy

Hey Dad!

I enjoyed your posting very much. I just wanted to say again that off all the songs you've written I think I like this one the most. It speaks to who I know you to be and who I want to be. Thanks for sharing it with all of us. We're headed over to Brent and Tammy's to help paint but I just wanted to touch base. I love you, dad!

Love,
Nathan
