I had a dream last night…
Filed in NHL | Comments (6)Journal,
What sweet peace. I got out of bed about 7:30 a.m., which a bit later than usual. And on top of that I had a dream from the Lord last evening. (God has often dealt with me in dreams and visions. Guess it goes with the turf of being a servant.)
Anyway, I saw peoples streaming into Christian Challenge. A number of them were people that I had been witnessing to of late. One thing that stood out was when I saw Greg Frick, one of our wandering lambs, making his way (at a run) towards the congregation. He? simply dove into a baptismal pool that we had in the midst of the flock. (Greg also had a friend with him but I knew in the dream that the friend would need further instructions in the way of the Lord.)
I called Tina at Bud’s and Bloom’s to share my dream. Ask her to pass it on to Greg.
Tis been a wonderful morning. The phone rang and my favorite uncle in all the world, Uncle Cullen Ray Carver, was on the other end. (He is not a favorite in the sense of loving him more. All the Carver family, which is my mother’s people, are loved equally.)
Uncle had just returned from a voyage. He had to battle a sickness all the while at sea. (Not sea sickness.) Was he ever glad to be home. While we chatted, his bird in the background tried to horn in on the conversation. Can you imagine having a bird for a buddy? That’s the way it goes with the Carvers. Very unique, interesting, mysterious, and loving people.?
(If you don’t have a sense of? humor, don’t read what follows.)
Guess I’d better share this with you. I am chief of a little known Indian tribe, called ‘The Shiney-Hiney Suc-a-Tashe Indian Nation.’ My first cousin’s wife had been after me to make her a deaconess of this austere nation. So? I drawn up an official document that must be signed by two of our chiefs. Another chief, Lane Fletcher, will present it to her this weekend. Here’s how it reads…
Official Document of the Shiney-Hiney Suc-a-Tashe Indian Nation
Hear ye! Hear ye! Hear ye! (I mispelled ‘hear ye with ‘here ye.’ What a bummer.)
This is to declare that on December 22nd, in the year of our Lord, 2006, by full consent of the official tribal elders, one Bernett Fletcher was honorably decreed to be Head Deaconess of this austere nation. (Not to be confused with the Shiney-Hiney Suc-a-Squash Indian Nation.)
Signed by two chiefs…
Now, we are accepting new applicants to the tribe. You simply need to let it be known that you will be a faithful member of the Shiney-Hiney Suc-a-Tashe Indian Nation, and be willing for me to give you a new name; something like ‘Fuzzy toes’ or whatever.
Sorry folks - I just had to do that. I think it is the Carver blood in me.
Let’s see, what else? My whole morning has been pleasant. Got to visit with my buddy, Warren Spurgeon on the phone. If there was ever a sweet brother in the Lord, it is? he. Warren has such a tender heart. Talk about a man in love with Jesus, he is the man.
My sweet Betty got a case of cabin fever. She’s on the road again. Course I think she has a bit of Christmas shopping on her mind.
That’s it for now. Love all of you.
Buddy
